Stop the Turkish invasion

If the Islamofascist project is allowed to succeed, it will be women of many diverse Middle Eastern communities who bear the brunt. One of the very first victims of Daesh resurgent terrorism was the key women’s organiser Hefrin Khalaf.

Make housing a key election issue!

When Labour led on housing in 1945, with the slogan “Let’s build the houses – quick”, they won, crushing a bombastic Tory leader trading on narrow, post-imperialist fantasies. The parallels are obvious.

Decent homes - not 'housing units'!

George Clark has launched a campaign to bring back council housing. Watch the programme on catch up and look out for future episodes. I trust that he and everyone else realises that the only way his campaign can succeed is to vote in a Labour government.

AS WE ENTER AN ELECTION PERIOD - A WARNING WE NEED TO HEED

SEVERAL FRIENDS contacted me to urge me to watch the new BBC documentary, Rise of the Nazis. Coincidentally, travelling back from a rally in Scotland, I met a young man who was part of the editorial team that made the film. Like my friends he impressed upon me the extraordinary relevance of the film for today’s politics.

Labour for the many – the Tories for the 1%!

The Tories would use the cover of a no-deal Brexit to pursue their wildest Thatcherite dreams to flog off our public services, strip away all the regulations that keep us safe, and undermine workers’ rights and environmental protections.

Labour should kill off 'Right To Buy', not breathe new life into it

The idea of extending RTB to the private sector should be unceremoniously buried and councils banned from selling off their homes.
